We are looking for a professional Japanese translator
Our top priority is offering AI-free human-driven professional translation services. To enhance and expand our service capabilities, we are always looking for a new talented member.
So, we are interested in hearing from ambitious translators and linguists who meet all the requirements listed below. Alternatively, if you know someone who knows how to translate in Japanese at a professional level, please let us know. We would be very grateful for it!
As our network is still small, we treat our member with respect and compensate them accordingly. We are not another predatory agency squeezing translators and letting them drown in the sea of misery.
Meanwhile, we are looking for new talents who can translate from English, German, French, or Spanish. However, we are glad to hear from linguists who can translate from other languages.
Please feel free to submit your application. A typical translation agency requires a CV or resumé for future collaboration, but we don’t. We are aware that the best talents have a deep-seated aversion to submit their personal information, especially their CV. For this reason, we only ask for minimal information at this stage:
- a link to a profile (Proz, LinkedIn, etc.) or personal website
- specialization(s)
- language pair(s).

Requirements to join our network as a professional Japanese translator
As mentioned earlier, we would like to hear from you if you are:
- a native speaker of Japanese based in Japan
- specialized in one or more fields
- not using generative AI tools to complete assigned tasks
- a bilingual translator who has taught at the college level in the source language(s) and/or who has been using the source language(s) as his/her working language(s) for several decades
- a professional Japanese translator with over ten years’ experience
- fully aware of professional confidentiality and willing to comply with it independently and voluntarily

Lastly, important information for our future members
- Please note that due to the high volume of applications we receive, we may not respond to all of them. Successful applicants will only hear from us if you are selected to move forward to the next steps.
- JPTranslators is not a firm or an employer, but it is just a network of translators. Being part of our network is not the same as being a regular employee. Due to the nature of the projects our clients require, we are unable to promise regular work.
- At the end of each month, we will calculate monthly compensation for services provided in Japanese yen. The amount will be deposited into each member’s Japanese bank account. We will cover the banking fees, of course.
- We treat and respect each member not only as a translator or linguist, but also as a human being. Our network always strives to foster an open communication culture based on mutual respect. Please consider joining our friendly and ambitious network!
