We are looking for a Japanese translator
Our top priority is offering premium services. To enhance and expand our service capabilities, we are always looking for a new team member. We are interested in hearing from ambitious linguists who meets all the requirements listed in the next section. Alternatively, if you know someone who knows how to translate in Japanese at a professional level, please let us know. We would be very grateful for it!
As our network is still small, we treat our team members with respect and compensate them accordingly. We are not another predatory agency squeezing translators and letting them drown in the sea of misery. We are currently looking for new talents who can translate from English, German, French, or Spanish. However, we are glad to hear from linguists who can translate from other languages.
Please feel free to submit your application. A typical translation agency requires a CV or resumé from a potential collaboration, but we don’t. We are aware that the best talents have a deep-seated aversion to submit their personal information, especially their CV. For this reason, we only ask for minimal information at this stage:
- a link to a profile (Proz, LinkedIn, etc.) or personal website
- specialization(s)
- language pair(s).

Requirements to join our team as a Japanese translator
We would like to hear from you if you are:
- a native speaker of Japanese based in Japan
- specialized in one or more fields
- not using generative AI tools to complete assigned tasks
- a bilingual person who has taught at the college level in the source language(s) and/or who has been using the source language(s) as his/her working language(s) for several decades
- a professional Japanese linguist with over ten years’ experience
- fully aware of professional confidentiality and willing to comply with it independently and voluntarily

Important information for those who are considering joining
- Please note that due to the high volume of applications we receive, we may not be able to respond to all of them. Future collaborators will only hear from us if you are selected to move forward to the next steps.
- JPTranslators is not a firm or an employer, but it is just a network of translators. Being part of our network is not the same as being a regular employee. Due to the nature of the projects our clients require, we are unable to promise regular work.
- At the end of each month, monthly compensation for services rendered will be calculated in Japanese yen. The amount will be deposited into each collaborator’s Japanese bank account. We will cover the banking fees.
- We treat and respect each collaborator not only as a linguist, but also as a human being. Our network always strives to foster an open communication culture based on mutual respect. Please think about joining our friendly and ambitious network!
